Google revamped its smartphone lineup by introducing Pixel and Pixel XL. The product is very much in the lines of Apple’s iPhone and targets the latest iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The Pixel XL arrives with a premium design and flagship specifications. Since both the iPhone 7 Plus and Pixel XL take on the head-to-head match, we provide you with the necessary information related to the common specifications and differences.
Both the devices have premium and robust constructions and provide the needed stability that a user wishes from a premium flagship model. Although both the devices appear different, most of the construction under the hood is relatively the same. Google used the combination of metal and glass for the construction of the smartphone while Apple went ahead with the all-metal construction. The iPhone 7 Plus receives dust and water-resistant ratings of IP 67 and IP 68 respectively. On the other hand, Google managed to make the pixel XL as dust and water repellent. Apple placed its fingerprint sensor in the Home button at the front while Google placed the fingerprint sensor on the rear.
Google leaves the race regarding display due to its quad HD resolution boasting a pixel density of 534ppi with a 5.5-inch display. Apple iPhone 7 has a full HD resolution with the pixel density of 401ppi. Ironically, it uses LCD screen while Google opted for AMOLED technology. However, Apple gains a little edge over Google due to its 3-D touch, which is a pleasure sensitive technology that helps the user attain additional features upon exerting extra pressure on the screen.
The Pixel XL has a 12.3-megapixel sensor with an aperture of f/2.0 and 1.55 µm pixels. Additional features include video stabilization, laser autofocus, dual LED flash, and phase detection autofocus. The front camera is an 8-megapixel with F/2.4 aperture and 1.4 µm pixel sensor. The iPhone 7 Plus has a dual lens setup. It comprises of two 12-megapixel sensors - one for wide-angle shooting, and other for telephoto. The wide-angle camera arrives with an aperture of f/1.8 while the telephoto lens has an aperture of F/2.8 along with optical image stabilization and quad LED flash. The front camera is a 7-megapixel camera with an aperture of f/2.2 and Retina Flash.

It is available in 32 GB and 128 GB storage variants with no support for external microSD cards. It still has the popular 3.5 MM headphone jack with the speakers located at the bottom. The iPhone 7 Plus runs on the latest A10 Fusion Chip processor embedded with M10 Motion Coprocessor. It runs on 2900 mAh battery with 3 GB of RAM. The device is available in 32 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB embedded storage options. Like Google, it does not provide support to any external microSD card. It does have stereo speakers, but there is no 3.5 MM Jack. Users can charge the device or a listen to media through the lightning port.
The Pixel XL launched by Google runs on the latest Android version – the Nougat. It offers pure Android experience with no bloatware. It is further the first device to provide the built-in Google’s assistant. The iPhone 7 Plus runs on iOS 10 and offers a seamless experience across all the iOS devices.
