It's a headache to add contacts to an iPhone, especially when you ditch the old iPhone for the new one. Fortunately, there're many accounts available, which let you easily sync iPhone contacts with the accounts. Since the accounts come to use, you don't have to worry about the contacts whenever you get a new iPhone. Instead, you just need to sync your iPhone with the account which has saved all your contacts on it.
Have no clear idea on how to sync iPhone contacts? Don't worry. It's not difficult. Among all accounts, Gmail account is a popular one, and widely used. Thus, in this article, I'll show you how to sync iPhone contacts with Gmail. By the way, Gmail account also enables you sync Google calendars with iPhone, so does tasks.
Here is step-by-step guide on how to sync Gmail contacts with iPhone. It's different. You can choose the right guidance according to your iPhone and iOS
1. Follow the tutorial below when iPhone runs iOS 7 or later.
Step 1 Go to Settings on your iPhone. Scroll down the screen to find Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Step 2 Tap Add Account and choose Google.
Step 3 Fill out your Google account information, including, name, email, password, description.
Step 4 Tap Next. Then, turn on Contacts. And then, tap Save.
2. Follow the tutorial below when iPhone runs iOS 6 or 5.
Step 1 On your iPhone, tap Settings. On the Settings screen, choose Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Step 2 Tap Add Account and select Other.
Step 3 Choose Add CardDAV Account. Enter the information, say, server, user name, password and description.
Step 4 Go to the top right corner and tap Next.
Step 5 Turn on Contacts to sync them between Google and your iPhone.

Step 1 Tap Safari on your iPhone and go to the Google Calendar Sync Settings page. If you are not logged into Google, it will redirect you to do so. This is how my page looks like.
Step 2 Select the Settings on your iPhone. It will look like this as shown in figure below
Step 3 Hit on Mail, Contacts, Calendar. You'll see all of the email accounts you have set up.
Note: If you don't already have your Gmail account set up, tap on Add Account, select Gmail and follow the directions.
Step 4 Select your Gmail account.
Here you share your Google Contacts, Calendar and Tasks with your iPhone by turning on the respective tabs.
If you turn it off. You should immediately get a pop message. For example I turn off calendar tab and get popup like that: Tap the button and it shows Delete from my iPhone.
Now turn the Calendar switch back on. (If the Calendars switch was off originally, then just turn it on.)
Step 5 Go to your iPhone Calendar app. Tab the Calendars button in the upper left-hand corner. You will see all of your Google Calendars, including shared calendars listed under the Gmail section.
Tap on all the calendars you want to include on your calendar. A checkmark will appear to the right of each one you select. You can change this any time you want. When you are finished, tap on the done button at the top of the screen.
Sometimes it may take some time to sync your entire calendar schedule from the Google servers. However, if all has done well, all of your schedules should appear on your calendar same as they save in Google Calendar.
