If you are an Apple lover like I am, and a fanatic user of their iPods, iPhones, or iPads, you will easily relate with what I am about to state now - copying playlists from your iDevices to iTunes is just not that easy, for example, copying your iPod playlists to iTunes.
Why? Well, Apple is against piracy, and this is their way of ensuring that no pirated music gets moved around on their platform. Seriously though, this isn't a great way of preventing piracy, I mean, there are many of us out there who just want to transfer or copy our legit iPod playlists with no bad intent at all.
Worry not though, as I am here today to share with you the 2 best solutions available that will help you easily copy your iPod playlists to iTunes, with no sweat at all, guaranteed!
TunesGo - iOS Transfer is an amazing software tool from the house of Wondershare, one of the pioneers of today's software industry. It is one of the best transfer tools ever designed for managing iDevices, which is capable of doing with a lot of ease and effortlessness.
Wondershare's focus was to ensure that the app is able to transfer almost everything from your iDevices to iTunes, including music, videos, photos, and playlists, not only with the intention of managing the data on your iDevices easily, but also for the purpose of creating backup as needed.
Wondershare TunesGo is available for both Windows and Mac, for our example in this article though, I will be using the Windows version and demonstrate the steps involved. The version on Mac also works pretty much on the same lines with no changes as such.
Step 1 Once you have installed the software, go ahead and launch TunesGo.
Step 2 Now, connect your iPod, iPhone or iPad with your computer.
Step 3 Once your iDevice has been detected, there are 2 ways you can copy all your playlist, you can either click on the tab "ToolBox" or click on "Music" from the options given on the top column.
If you decide to click on ToolBox > "Rebuild iTunes Library", then the next popup window would ask you to click 'Start' to begin the process.
Step 4 As soon as you click the button 'Start', TunesGo will begin scanning your iDevice for the data. Once the scan is over, TunesGo will display the number of files that are available to be copied to the iTunes library, in this case check the Music and Playlist. Simply press the button 'Start' to complete this process.
Note: This application is compatible with iPod touch, iPod nano, iPod shuffle and iPod classic. Both versions fully support iOS 10/9/8/7/6/5. Click Tech Spec to get more info about supported iPod models.
That's done! You have exported playlist from iPod to iTunes library. Open your iTunes to check the exported playlist. Then, you will find the songs in the playlist are with ratings, play counts and more information, which lets you quickly find your wanted songs.
Apart from exporting iPod playlist to iTunes, you can just export your favorite songs back to iTunes library without duplicates as well. Besides, this application also lets you create new playlist on your iPod. Thus, why not download this iPod to iTunes transfer application to try it yourself? You will find more fantastic and useful features.
Although this method works, it’s not a 100% guaranteed that iTunes will approve all the music transferred in the playlist as genuine and this might wreak havoc on you if iTunes were to reject all the transferred music and fails to play. Primarily this could happen since iTunes considers this direct sharing of music and playlists as illegal.
So bear in mind that solution 1 (using TunesGo) is far more reliable if you want to copy playlists from your iDevices to iTunes with no trouble at all.
Step 1 Connect your iDevice (iPhone in this example) to your PC, and then launch iTunes.
Step 2 Click on the iPhone icon (as seen in the screenshot below) to access your iDevice.
Step 3 Now, on the next screen, select the playlist from the list of options given under the section 'On My Device', on the left hand side of the iTunes interface.
Step 4 Then, go to 'File > Library > Export Playlist...' to export your playlist on iPhone to the PC.
Step 5 Save the playlist in a specific folder on your PC as you will need it soon.
Step 6 Now, go back to the Music section by clicking on the Music icon given on the top left hand side of the iTunes interface.
Step 7 And, go to 'File > Library > Import Playlist...' and then select the playlist you just saved and hit 'Open'.
There you go, you have successfully imported your playlists from your iPhone to your iTunes library. This method works given that the songs in the playlist exported are already there in your PC or otherwise you will have to find a way to extract these songs from your iDevice first.
That right there is how you can easily transfer or copy your playlist from iPod, iPhone or iPad to iTunes, without even using iTunes at the 1st place. When it comes to replacing iTunes completely, there's no other software that even comes closer to what Wondershare TunesGo can do.
Let us know which one of these 2 options do you like the most and why. If you have anymore solutions that are equally good as these two, feel free to let us know in the comments section.
