In today's scenario, phones are getting more in number and closer to replacing our computers altogether. The technology and space available to us these days are also totally favouring it. However, a mobile though being handy offers us a great advantage, it poses a threat at the same time; it might get stolen or damaged. In such cases, all your data and important text messages may get lost.
So, to prevent such unfortunate events, one needs to sync all their data so that it remains safe and intact in the form of a backup. In this article, we will be discussing in detail as to how you can sync your text messages with different targets and in different ways.

Step 1: Start by launching iTunes and then connect your iPhone and your PC using the USB cable.
Step 2: As soon as the phone is connected and identified, you should see an option to select it from the upper right corner of iTunes window.
Step 3: The moment you click on the iPhone, you will be taken to another screen that gives more information on the device. You will also see the backup section on the same window. Now, to do a complete backup of you device, just select the option of 'This computer', that you should find at the left hand side of this screen.
Step 4: If you want your backup to be protected with an additional layer of encryption, you may also select the option of 'Encrypt iPhone backup' which will, as it says clearly, encrypt the iPhone backup while syncing your SMS and other files.
Step 5: Once done, click on 'Back Up Now' to begin the process. Remember to click on a few popup windows with appropriate choices such as do ensure that you click on 'Back Up Apps' to keep the apps you want etc. iTunes will now begin the transfer of the backup files, apps and other data to the iTunes library in your iPhone. Once this process has been completed, simply hit the 'Done' button from the upper right hand corner of the screen.
Step 6: You should now see a message that confirms the completion of the process, with your text messages and other data synced or backed up.
Step 7: If you want to view the synced messages, you simply have to create a backup of them on your PC as iCloud doesn't allow it. Once you create the backup on PC, you can make use of apps such as the iExplorer and be able to view your text messages easily.
Step 8: Select the iPhone option on your PC screen, left hand side bar, and then hit the 'Data' > 'Messages'. You should be able to see the messages that were backed up on the screen now.
Step 1: Start by connecting your iPhone with your WiFi.
Step 2: Now go to the Home screen on your iPhone and tap on the 'Settings' app. After that, select the iCloud option.
Step 3: Select the tab 'Back up & storage' and switch on the 'iCloud backup' option. Login with your apple id and password in the next screen.
Step 4: One of the last steps to do is to choose the 'Back up now' option to backup the text messages to your iCloud account.
Step 5: Viewing all your text messages on iCloud is pretty easy, simply switch on your iCloud, and access the message option from left hand sidebar. If your iPhone is brand new, you may have to do some adjustments to the settings so as to be able to see the backed up messages. Go to Settings> General> Reset, and then select the option of 'Erase All Content and Settings'. Now, enter your new iPhone apple id and password. Your iPhone should be ready for iCloud backups after setting up your login details.
