Most manufacturers of cellular phones nowadays are putting up security systems that are prohibiting the users from downloading and installation applications that are from third party developers. The users will only be allowed to download and install those that have been developed originally by the manufacturers or their affiliated companies. The reasoning behind this activity is that the manufacturer would want to protect the security and safety of the user. In this case, you, as a user, will not be able to use one application that you may find useful but is not supported by the manufacturer of your phone.
This system is applicable to most phones, such as the ZTE Kis Flex V793. ZTE restrictions are in place to prevent the installation of third party software programs. However, there is a process that allows the user to remove such security restrictions. The process, which is called rooting, has been practiced by advanced technical users for a couple of years already. If you want to experience the freedom that these advanced technical users are having with their ZTE phones, then, you can make use of the following steps on how you can root your ZTE Kis Flex V793 device. However, before you proceed with the activity, you should know that rooting any device will be voiding any warranty that is provided for the phone by the manufacturer. In case your phone gets broken or bricked, you have waived the option to consult the manufacturer.
Step 1 You should be connecting your device to the computer with the help of a USB cable. Afterwards, you have to make sure that you will be turning on the USB Debugging setting so that you can download and install certain applications. You can do so by going to your Menu and selecting Settings. Afterwards, you should look for “About Phone” and tap on it. Then, you need to scroll down until you find “Build Number”. You need to tap on it several times until you get a message that “You are now a developer.”
Step 2 Afterwards, you need to go back to About Phone and look for Developer Options. You should tap on it and start looking for USB Debugging. You will need to enable it so tap on the box beside it. The screen will then show a dialog box asking you to allow USB Debugging. You need to click on OK. Once you click on OK, a check mark will appear on the box beside USB Debugging.
Step 3 You will have to download the rooting files from the website of the developer or a third party company. After successfully downloading it and saving it on your computer, you should be extracting the files. After making sure that USB Debugging has been activated, you need to open up the files that you have extracted. You will first need to install the USB drivers. You should choose the USB driver folder and run the setup.
Step 4 You just have to click on Next on the Setup Wizard to continue the process. It will then start installing the files. You will be notified once the installation has been successfully done afterwards.
Step 5 You will be receiving the message pictured below. You just need to click on Finish to proceed.
Step 6 After finishing the installation of the drivers, you will then need to go to the folder that is named as “adb”. You have to click on it and select “RebootBootloader.exe”. When you click on such .exe file, your phone will automatically shut down so that it can enter into fastboot mode. While your phone is off, you should go back one page on your computer and look for the folder named “fasboot”. Inside that folder, you should look for the “StartCWM.bat” file and double click on it. You may get a warning dialog box when you do so. You just click on “Run” to proceed.
Step 7 After clicking on Run, you will notice that your ZTE phone will boot into the CWM Recovery Menu. You just need to leave it as is as of this time. You should go back to your downloaded files and open up the “root” folder. Afterwards, you should be double clicking on the “runroot.bat” file to run it.
Step 8 You will then be seeing the Command Prompt on the screen of your computer. It will be asking you to “install zip” then “install zip from sideload”. This statement refers to your phone so you need to go to your phone and select “Install zip” from the CWM Recovery Menu. Afterwards, you should choose the “Install zip from sideload” option once you see it.
Step 9 After that, you should be pressing any key on your computer keyboard. After pressing on any key, the phone will start to update itself. It will also be installing the SU or SuperUser application. Once the update is done, you will be notified by getting a message on the screen of your phone.
Step 10 After you have received such message on your ZTE phone, you should be going back to your computer and press any key on your keyboard. It will then ask you to reboot your device. You should be rebooting your device manually by selecting the right options from the CWM Recovery Menu. You should wait until the phone has finished its rebooting process.
After the last step or after your phone has finished rebooting, it will then already be a rooted device. If you want to double check on the success of the rooting process, you can download and install a root checker. This root checker can be downloaded from a third party website. You just have to make sure, though, that it is a reputable and legal one. Once you have already installed it, it just needs to be run so that it can start detecting if your phone has been successfully rooted or not. If rooting has not been successful, then, you will need to follow and perform the same steps all over again.
